Budapest’s police closed the capital’s iconic Margaret Island, a famous sports and relaxation spot for the residents this afternoon. The Budapest police headquarter decided to close Margaret Island today at 4.30 pm because of a wild boar. Prior to this measure, they had received multiple reports about the animal from people. For security reasons, officers did not allow vehicles, including public transport and pedestrians enter the island. Moreover, they notified the experts of a hunting agency, telex.hu wrote.

Based on a short statement of the Budapest Transport Centre (BKK), bus line nr 26 did not operate on the island between 4 pm and 5 pm.
